19th century farmhouse
The complete renovation of this Galloway farmhouse and steading was undertaken to create a premium holiday home for those wanting to take full advantage of the many outdoor activities the area has to offer, whilst wishing to return to a cosy retreat with more than a hint of luxury.
The sandblasting and repointing of the exterior walls brought the best out of the subtle tones of the stone and the sympathetic overhaul of the interior brought a once cold and damp collection of rooms together as a welcoming home.
End terrace townhouse
This grade B listed end of terrace townhouse was completely remodelled for the owners, who were wishing to upgrade the interior of the property to current 21st century living whilst retaining the appealing character of the 18th century façade. The original house was gutted, the rear wall demolished, and a twin gable extension added.
The ‘In Vogue’ open plan living/dining and kitchen area retained its cosiness with the use of underfloor heating warming the porcelain tiled floor whilst allowing sweeping views up the stone terraced garden from the front door.
The restricted access required some imagination and not a little grunt to install the 5 steel beams necessary in the construction.
Home in Gatehouse
This Chalet style house sits on a hillside with a breath-taking view of the valley beyond up to the hills in the distance. Our clients wished to make the most of this glorious aspect by adding a balcony at first floor level which allows an unobstructed view and a feeling of immersion as you are suspended above the ground which drops away steeply below.
This construction was undertaken as part of a program of alteration and refurbishment carried out over a number of years.
Swimming Pool To Kitchen
This relatively modern house required a reconfiguring of the room layouts, moving the kitchen from the shaded north side of the house to the south-facing side with garden views, into a space which was previously occupied by an indoor swimming pool. The terrace come patio area was also updated recycling old granite paving previously in place at Birmingham central station. This renovation also included a new wet room and other modernising features.
